ART MIAMI TO LAUNCH THE KENNEDY KIDS FOUNDATION

ART MIAMI TO LAUNCH THE KENNEDY KIDS FOUNDATION AT iTS 32nd EDITION

The new charity organization, honoring a local student, aims to prevent teenage suicide and raise mental health awareness

MIAMI (November 29th) – On Tuesday, November 29th, Art Miami will open its 2022 fairs with the launch of The Kennedy Kids Foundation. The charity was created in memory of local student Kennedy Bailey with a mission to prevent teenage suicide through mental health awareness, education and enhanced access to care. Bailey attended Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) where she studied art, and visited the Art Miami fair annually with her family.

“Art Miami is honored to launch The Kennedy Kids Foundation to help support youth mental health awareness and Kennedy’s parents Robert and Tina Bailey, as they create a legacy in honor of their daughter. A young, bright, vibrant and passionate art student and creative, Kennedy visited the Art Miami fairs annually with her family,” shares Nick Korniloff, Art Miami’s Executive Vice President and Fair Director. “We are thankful for artist Bradley Theodore’s generosity and support of this meaningful charitable organization that will have a long lasting positive effect on our youth.”

Taking place during the fair’s VIP Platinum Preview, the foundation’s launch will include a silent auction of three original works by renowned artist and muralist Bradley Theodore, who is internationally recognized for his street art and paintings of pop culture icons. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the foundation.

“The Kennedy Kids Foundation was created after the tragic loss of Kennedy Bailey, and the family grief and depression that followed,” shares Kennedy’s father Robert Bailey. “With the help from Nick Kornilof, Bradley Theodore and Art Miami staff, this foundation will move forward in its goal to eradicate suicide within our youth through education and mental health awareness.”

Art Miami’s 32nd edition will take place at The Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miami Pavilion, located at One Herald Plaza on NE 14th Street. The silent auction will take place during the Platinum VIP Preview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29. Those interested in attending can visit https://www.artmiami.com/vip-application.

About Bradley Theodore

With bright, energetic brushstrokes, Bradley Theodore transforms cultural icons into skeletons. The artist considers celebrity and mortality as he paints the silhouettes of famous figures such as David Bowie, Kate Moss, Audrey Hepburn, and Anna Wintour—he often depicts elements of their distinctive outfits, hair, and poses as well as the bones that lie beneath. Theodore, who studied at the School of Visual Arts, takes inspiration from his early days as a graffiti artist in New York and his later career as a graphic designer. His compositions unite the expressive, pared-back forms of those practices with elements from art history and the world of fashion. Theodore has exhibited extensively in New York and London. He has completed public projects in those cities as well as in Tokyo and Tivat, Montenegro. The artist has also collaborated with Puma, Google, Rolls-Royce, and Lego.
